My Life as a Mother

Whoa … Once the hauling, labor and delivery are done – Wham Bam you are a Mother!! You have not changed your role as Wife, you still clean, cook, wash, etc., just now, more so. However, you now have a few added items to your daily list to have checked off. You soon learn that your capacity to Love has increased 100 fold, and for some reason, your capacity for patience has decreased equally. I have found that over time these two important factors will sea-saw, somehow, someday, they will balance (maybe in the next life).

As these dear little ones grow, we also learn to adjust to every day life with new twists. Bumps, scratches, cuts, stitches, broken bones, bruised hearts, hopeful souls. We learn to deal with trama, drama, lost or undone homework, upset feelings and teachers. We then move on to High School, Seminary, church responsibilities, cars, dating, curfews… late nights in a chair.. (oops – that’s dad) – I did not really worry – I felt I had raised my children to be trusted. Then we move on to College, Missions, Marriage, Grandchildren – Wow!!! (Read the article)

Easter

Easter

Acts 12:4 is the only place in the Bible that the word “Easter” is used. In the foot notes it is mentioned that it could be changed to “Passover”. My husband and I had quite a discussion about this term. This feast of Easter came in the Spring Equinox / or about the time of Passover.

There was an interesting news segment about a Jewish family that was observing the Passover. Each item on the plate was symbolic and there was a prayer or song after each type of food that was to be eaten. The Jews, because of their traditions of their fathers, even those according to their faith, are still waiting. One of these traditions is to have an extra plate at the table and the door open, incase Elijah happens to stop in and want to share the Passover with the family.

What are these people waiting for? (Read the article)

A day in the life of Alex

I’m going to SLCC just taking math 1050 and thinking about taking more classes. O.K. actually, I have a job that starts at 3:30am and ends around 7:00am. I then go to school at 8:00am and leave around 10:00am. After I get home I have some time to, either do my homework (but I don’t), or sleep until noon when I go do yard work for ALS (Alex’s Lawn Service), then at four I go take pictures of sports teams and, depending on the location of where these pics are at, we end at sun down or 8:00pm. Giving me enough time to get home and fall to sleep, so I can start all over again. And that’s my week in a nutshell. Going back to ALS I just got a call from Drew Menlove (I think its the car Menlove) he says that he’s been talking around and wants to hire me. This sounds super great except that it’s just me working at ALS and I’m already really busy. SO I’m going to talk with him next week and we’ll see what we’ll see.
Speaking of school, I’ve also received many a message/slash/invitation/slash/application offers for Westminster College in the mail and I might sign on with them next…sign-on time, or year depending on if I can get my life in order.

Vicarious Life as It Is

If we are to live our lives vicariously through you, our kids, then we ought have a say in what you do with your lives!

In order to do this we need to know how you think, what you think, why you think, how you feel, what you feel, what are your motivations, where are you coming from? (Why are you here?  Where are you going?)…or at the very least WHAT you are doing with your life.

Indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Connie, we need info, we desire info, we crave info, we wa(/)nt-would like info, if there is any info, that is virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy we  seek after it.

Thank you very much!!!

Love, daddie dearest

Jesus Christ

At this Easter Season our thoughts are turned towards our Savior, for Easter is a celebration of the risen Lord. But over the years His message of re-birth has been diluted, distorted, or lost altogether as commercialism has secularized even this holiday. And yet, only as we come to know Christ can His life affect ours as it was intended.

How do you get to know a person? What qualifies as knowing a person? (Read the article)
