Jesus Christ

At this Easter Season our thoughts are turned towards our Savior, for Easter is a celebration of the risen Lord. But over the years His message of re-birth has been diluted, distorted, or lost altogether as commercialism has secularized even this holiday. And yet, only as we come to know Christ can His life affect ours as it was intended.

How do you get to know a person? What qualifies as knowing a person?

(Do things together, share personal experiences with them so that you have things in common.) (Learn about their life, what they have experienced and find out how they respond to life’s challenges.)

So what do we know about Christ? There are at least 12 distinct roles that Christ has had, or will have in his life.

  1. Intelligence – First born of Heavenly Father’s spirit children.

  2. Council in Heaven – Advocate of our Father’s plan.

  3. Creator – Created this Earth and worlds without number.

  4. Jehova – Gave and fulfilled the Law.

  5. Mortal Ministry – Virgin birth-Only Begotten of the Father in the flesh, Restored Priesthood, Established Curch.

  6. Atonement and Crucifixion – In the Garden and on the Cross.

  7. Spirit World Ministry – Pqaradise and Spirit Prison, Missionary work.

  8. Resurrection – Post-resurrection Ministry in Jerusalem, Asension.

  9. Western Hemisphere Ministry – Other Sheep.

  10. Other “Other Sheep” Ministry – Lost Ten Tribes, Others?

  11. Restoration – Continuing Revelation today.

  12. Second Coming – Millenial Reign, Judgement

But to know ABOUT Christ is not the same as KNOWING Christ.

We come to know Christ only as we incorporate His teachings into our lives, and by entering into covenants with Him, so that His great sacrifice and Atonement can take effect in our own lives.

Through His resurrection we escape the bonds of physical death. Through His Atonement we escape the effects of spiritual death and can return and live with our Father in Heaven.

This is the purpose of Jesus Christ’s life and meaning of the Easter message.
